Although Dave was communicative via email, showed up on time, seemed pleasant.FYI He will not wear a mask for medical reasons.This was a problem for me. Lost my business.I get people have strong beliefs yet don't you have to make a living?Save that for your off time if you must.

Nick and Gilles at Astral were fantastic. I had a woodstove installation, and they did a great job, start to finish. Very timely, professional, responsive. I'd hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

This store is the most frustrating business to deal with. Once you have bought the product it is nearly impossible to get good quality service for parts needed. My own experience has really tested my patience in getting someone to call me back after leaving several messages and then actually driving to the store to find out why and if the part I ordered was even ordered and it wasn’t but assured it would be and in the following week, so far nothing and no phone call to advise on the status. When I got to the store there was paperwork everywhere and having to give all the information again certainly not giving me a good feeling. Al who works there seems to be the only one who knows anything at all and the others are very disorganized Good luck to anyone who buys from this establishment!

Absolutely disappointed with this store. Used them to service my wood stove but they have now implemented a new policy if you didn't buy it from them they will not assist. Asked if they were unable to service it or chose not to because I didn't buy it directly from them. They chose not to. Absolutely will never use them for anything including a new stove if that is what is required. Shame I found them great in the past. What a very short sighted policy. Not even in a hurry to get the service, they just didn't want the business.Please note response doesn’t cut it. I was in no hurry to get it serviced. They could have done this anytime between now and Christmas. Needed the wood stove serviced not the chimney cleaned.Policy if you didn’t buy from them they won’t service even if you used them in the past.

I bought a wood stove (used) that this company had sold, serviced and removed for the customer. Customer I purchased from said they had told him they would instal it for me and I could get it installed and insured. When I looked at the stove, the UL label (required for insurance) had been removed by them when they removed the stove.I called them and asked them to install it and another stove for me and if I could get the UL number or serial number, or anything so I could get it insured. They would not give me the UL number, serial number or anything else in order for me to get insured, thus, my purchase from their customer was a waste of money.Always told the boss would call me back... never happened. I would never do business with what I consider a dishonest Co with poor business practice

James and his staff installed a pellet stove for us in March 2022. He was quick with a quote and setup an install time right away. He and his crew were professional, and walked me through every step of the installation. I'd highly recommend Kawartha Home & Hearth for any install work in the future.

Update part 2: we got a call from Sean apologizing for the issues. He sent a couple guys back to put in some molding. Made a huge difference and extremely professional and kind. I love the insert and appreciate all they did to correct the issues.Disclose IF YOU HAVE CATS! We purchased an insert beginning of November 2022. Sean stated install before Thanksgiving and would take a few hours. They came 11/22 and didn't complete job due to missing part. Leaving my fireplace in disrepair for holiday. We had to call several times to follow up. Once, no show, second they came and left immediately due to cat allergy and nowfor third time plus thousands of dollars still no insert installed. We paid for electrician and permit plus paid them in full. Terrible customer service and doesn't respect customer time. I am beyond frustrated at the experience. UPDATE: CHIMNEY CHAP reached out after a few calls from my husband. They said they could be at our home in 20 minutes to complete job. Two guys came and installed fireplace and completed chimney work. My husband said they were nice and professional as well as informative. However no call from owner or manager to apologize or to explain numerous issues. The biggest problem was lack of communication and not keeping appointments. The final product is fine but the fit isn't perfect as we need some kind of trim. Whatever at least it's functional.
